Sarasota Sister Cities – Treviso Weekly 11:30 a.m. Meeting

Follow-Up This Meeting:
o Recap on the delegation Itinerary and any changes that were made
o Get transportation volunteers to commit to certain days and times and set down in the itinerary.
o Get translation volunteers to commit to certain days and times and set down in the itinerary.
o Get photography volunteers to commit to certain days and times and set down in the itinerary.

* Susanna recaps on the itinerary and the changes that have been made from the Treviso delegation. Spouses of the delegation members will not be coming but 3 people from their international relation have been added. Total number of the delegation is now 8 plus 2 chefs). The delegation is arranging for flight tickets now and will let us know their arrival time and flight information as soon as they have it, as well as exactly who will be coming.
* We went around the table and confirmed where people were able to commit themselves and on what dates, in order to assist during the delegations stay as far as transportation, translators and photographers are concerned.
*Mirco Chiodi, working with Bridget Coughlin in charge of international languages at Riverview (teaches Italian), along with Miriam Gephard, AnnaMaria Tosolini and Linda Krane at Sarasota School board, to develop programs on the Italian language in the schools.
Mirco Chiodi is also working out details to allow the dinner with the chefs from Treviso, that the province would like to use as a showcase of their products. This dinner is in addition to our gala night.
Mirco Chiodi informed that Tony Fiocco has accepted the vice chair SSCA Director for Treviso, this will allow Tony to get to know the SSCA board and meet once a month and report things that are being developed within the Treviso committee.
Posters are now here and ready for distribution to promote the Feb 20th gala ceremony night, all team members are asked to use their places of influence to place the poster for “Branding” Sarasota Sister Cities Association events around Town.

Follow-Up Next Meeting:
· Poster Distribution status,
· new poster and banner to be decided and promote to
· find additional sponsors.
· Streamline the itinerary and iron out its details.

Long-Term Projects:
o Sister Cities Discount Card for local Sarasota Shops, Restaurants, and Activity Centers – The same would go for our Sister Cities.
o Sister Cities Convention at Robarts Arena – Multiple booths for each of the countries to show: Food, Clothing, Jewelry etc.
o Local Treviso Clothing and Jewelry Fashion Show in Sarasota
o Set up a tour of Treviso for tourists and one for Business trips. Local places to stay eat, shop etc.
o T.V. show following winners of our raffle ticket fundraiser. They will travel to Treviso, Italy and stay with farmers on an “agriturism” vineyard, contributing to and experience their daily routine.

Short Term Projects:
o Guest speaker for Riverview High School “Italian Language Program”
o Showing of the artwork from the children of Treviso
o Treviso Delegation coming for signing
o Quilt show/exchange with the Sarasota Amish and the quilters of Treviso.
